In a civil campaign named Osveščeni Prebivalci Slovenije (Conscious people of Slovenia) for several months we have been working keenly and as volunteers for the revival of the Slovenian traditional footwear production from Tržič. With your cooperation we want to give Peko back into the hands of the original cheated owners: that is workers, small shareholders, and all taxpayers, this means you! We want to return the brand name Peko, production halls, offices, storage and commercial premises, machinery and equipment, the existing stock of ready made products and stock of the material. All these, in accordance with the dynamics of the new production and sales on the Slovenian and foreign markets. We want to build a business Peko that will become again successful and respectable. The rebuilding of Peko is based on an innovative model of a cooperative with the name of the Peko kooperativa, with known and responsible owners and managers.

We are aware of our responsibility, that is to leave the country and the company to the future generations in a better condition than we received them from our ancestors. The business model of Peko kooperativa is a pilot project that could be a solution for the other state-owned enterprises. Participate! We are collecting funds for the purchase of the brand name, real estate, machinery, equipment, repro material, supplies and start-up funds for the new production on the basis of a new business plan and a new business model, all of this, to maintain the 113 years of tradition Peko knowledge and experience, and to build a new global company PEKO KOOPERATIVA - COOPERATIVE. 200.000 Slovenes, citizens for the NEW Peko for 20 € of the mandatory share, and at the same time, become cooperative members of Peko kooperativa. What is the most valuable in Peko are the people, their experiences, knowledge, skills, wisdom and joy to work. Of course, when all these combine into a new healthy core, the success will come and this will reward the work of all of us also with the money from the sale of products.

GENUINE AND HONEST HUMAN RELATIONS ARE THE FOUNDATION FOR SUCCESS

All staff and managers will be selected by the rigorous criteria of the profession, good morals and good heart personality. The candidates for the managers who will become shortlisted, will be presented to all cooperative members on video conferrences and will be selected by all with a vote. We will work all for one, and one for all. We will strive to become top professionals and the best possible friends. Each employee will have the option for development and career. Remuneration will be on-the-fly, depending on the success and good ideas, and at the end of the reporting period, with a share in profit. Education and training at home and abroad will be permanent. The care will be taken of the physical health (tours, travel, recreation, sports competitions, picnics, holiday activities, etc) and musical pursuits – in this context, it is our goal to establish a symphony orchestra, which will eventually become the ambassador of Peko kooperativa.

THE COOPERATION OF ALL FOR THE COMMON GOOD

In the business of Peko kooperativa we will include children from elementary schools and students from secondary schools, so that they can attend the prize contests for the best creations products. We will establish the close cooperation with faculties of art and design, the Economics faculty and Faculty of computing. We will support pupils and students in their studies at home and by sending them to study abroad. We will cooperate with the Institute Jožef  Štefan and with the Institute for the study of materials. We will include cooperative companies from Tržič and its surroundings, from the whole of Slovenia and from abroad. We will keep in contact with our customers and cooperative members via internet – to stay open for suggestions, criticisms, and good ideas, which we will compensate.

INNOVATION, ORIGINALITY, BEAUTIFUL DESIGN, QUALITY, UTILITY, DURABILITY AND AFFORDABILITY

We are committed to continually finding new solutions in the field of footwear, apparel and accessories in terms of techniques of manufacture as well as natural healthy materials (e.g. industrial hemp …). The shoe that grows with a child's leg, the »smartest« skates in the world, a footwear or a garment that you create for yourself from computer elements in any part of the world, by your idea and taste, and in the materials and colors you like, and where immediately upon any entry of the proposed item, material and colour, the price will be shown on screen. Also scan your feet at a distance via internet applications. Attract the cooperation of well-known personalities at home and celebrities from around the world. Manufacture of products for all age groups and for people with special needs. The possibility of payment in several installments, the purchase of products for future collections in make advance payment and more and more.  

GRAIN BY GRAIN – A BREADLOAF, STONE BY THE STONE – A PALACE.

The essence of our activity is that in the cooperative PEKO KOOPERATIVA we all benefit. First the buyers that will buy useful and superior products - with each purchase of our products you will increase the voluntary share in the cooperative Peko kooperativa by 10% of the purchase value. This meaning also that you will, depending on the acquired shares, be included in the sharing of added value – profit. Or you might decide to use your voluntary shares for the purchase in the future. The principle of sharing of profit will always be the same, in thirds. In addition to the customers, the cooperative companies will also benefit, because they will have work and earnings from their participation, and at the same time they will acquire shares as a part of their earning investment. It is important that no one will be exploited, and that the profit will be shared between all stakeholders. And thirdly, part of the profit will be divided between those which are producing – the employees, and between the multiple customers of our products – cooperative members, and which will, irrespective of the amount of shares they own, with the right of one vote decide directly about all relevant issues of Peko kooperativa – cooperative.

COOPERATIVE MEMBERS IN PEKO KOOPERATIVA WILL BENEFIT

• With every purchase of Peko kooperativa product their share in the Peko kooperativa will increase by 10% of the paid net price;

• permanent possibility of a purchase of optional voluntary shares;

• participation in the sharing of added value – profit, depending on the amount of their share;
